Michael Lay - Author

Michael, is a native Texan, born in Fort Worth and began his “Journey of Faith” on April 13th 1959. After living in Dallas for two years, his family move to the Houston area in 1966 to support the space program logistics at NASA. His visits to NASA's mission control center lead to Michael’s fascination with computers. While planning for college, he found there wasn’t an information technology curriculum at that time. Michael joined the US Air Force to enter their technology program.  However, due to a childhood illness, he did not pass their physical which lead to his 4F draft classification. Although disappointing, this closed door cleared the way to receive a job offer from Shell Oil Company. 

Michael met the love of his life in high school during her freshman year and he knew his life was changed forever. After dating for 4 years Michael married Kathy when she graduated from high school in June of 1971 and they have been happily married for over 50 years. 

After graduating from the University of Houston with a Batchelor of Business Administration degree with majors in Accounting and Mathematics, his career has covering 3 diverse career segments. Including financial control accountant for a wholly owned subsidiary of a global fortune 10 company, Vice President – Information Technology for a global manufacturing company and Advisory Services Principal Consultant for multiple national firms.
